Viewed several times with solar filter glasses but never with a telescope.

I woke up around 4:30 to set up and view the "blood moon". By the time I had finished setting up in my backyard I had about 15 minutes until total eclipse. I took several pictures holding my phone up to the eyepiece. Unfortunately I was not able to get any partial eclipse shots as the moon was too low in the sky. The moon was a distinct hint of red but through the telescope the color was much more prominent.

I traveled up to the Angeles National Forest to get to some darker skies. The only DSO that I found that night was M42. At first I wasn't even sure what I was looking at was even the nebula but as I increased the magnification it was clear this was it.

My first attempt to see Venus through a telescope. The sky was too cloudy so I could not get a clear enough view to resolve the planet.
